Slip Masterbatches (EL-SP) are traditionally based on unsaturated fatty acid amides. The concentration of slip (COF) affects performance. In the initial phase, COF is very sensitive to minute variations in concentration until a certain level of slip is reached after that slip has very little effect on the COF. These primary amides migrate rapidly through polyolefin films after extrusion and appear on the surface of the film to lower the COF. The amount of slip required depends upon film thickness, additive being used and the presence of other additives such as anti-blocks.

Our masterbatches are available in formulations that allow for various diffusion rates, end-use temperatures, base resins, and ink types. The newer slip Masterbatches include nonmigratory slips with very large molecules and specialized formulations adapted for lamination.
